About Beyond the Bays Tourism

Beyond the Bays Tourism is a not-for-profit association dedicated to supporting tourism businesses across the Mornington Peninsula. Previously existing as the 2 separate associations of MP Hinterland and Western Port Tourism until late 2024, the one merged entity, Western Port Tourism Inc. (trading as Beyond the Bays tourism) launched in 2025. Representing over 80 businesses—from micro-enterprises to the largest operators across a variety of categories such as Accomodation, Art & Culture, Activities & Attractions, Food & Beverage producers and venues and more —we believe that collaboration is the key to success. By working together, we create greater opportunities, attract more visitors, and drive sustainable growth for our tourism industry. As a member, you’ll gain valuable exposure, connect with industry leaders, and access exclusive benefits designed to strengthen your business and the regional tourism economy. We also partner with the Mornington Peninsula Regional Tourism Board, which provides our members with important deep dive presentations into our regions, business listings on a dedicated Beyond the Bays landing page on the popular visit Mornington Peninsula website, access to MPRT events and more. Funds are generated through membership revenue, industry partnerships and council contributions as well as grant funding from other entities, such as a Tiny Towns Round 2 grant secured via the Department of Transport and Planning. All revenue received is invested back into visitor marketing and industry/member development activities all designed to ensure an exceptional experience for the local, interstate and international visitors to the region. We also manage the Information Centre located at Hastings on the pier, which is staffed by a team of Visitor Information Centre volunteers, who we train, educate and up-skill to best promote our member businesses and the greater Mornington Peninsula region to the many visitors who frequent the centre.
