About Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Brazos Valley

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Brazos Valley is working to clear the path to a child's biggest possible future. Joining parents with our staff, we match each child with a mentor to foster a friendship built on trust, learning, and growth. For our community-based program, Bigs (adult volunteers) and Littles (children aged 6-16 years) meet at least 2 times a month for a minimum of 12 months. These meetings consist of the match doing activities in the community such as going to the park, making arts&crafts, bowling, movies, etc. For our site-based program, Bigs and Littles meet after school on a scheduled day of the week to work on homework together, read, chat, or just hangout. This program runs on an academic calendar year, with no summer program available.
