About Bird Collisions in the Anthropocene

Bird Collisions in the Anthropocene is a large-scale art project which addresses bird deaths due to window collisions in the US. Measuring over 300 feet in length, this crowd-sourced, sculptural carpet will be comprised of over 10,000 hand-crafted bird replicas – one for each bird killed and collected in 2023 in the city of Chicago, the most dangerous city in the US for birds.
