About Black Cinema Club HTX

Black Cinema Club HTX is a Houston based cultural organization dedicated to amplifying Black filmmakers, Black content creators, and Black film lovers while building sustainable film infrastructure in the city. Founded on April 18, 2025, BCCHTX exists to make Houston a true home for Black cinema. We curate screenings, masterclasses, industry conversations, and culture forward experiences that bring filmmakers and audiences together in real life. Beyond exhibition, we are committed to growing new Black filmmakers, funding Black films, and creating clear pathways into the entertainment industry. In our first year alone, BCCHTX produced 17 events, welcomed nearly 1,500 attendees, and built a community of more than 10,000 supporters across platforms. Our growth has been fueled by strategic partnerships and a deep commitment to ecosystem building. We have collaborated with and been supported by institutions and platforms including the historic DeLuxe Theatre, River Oaks Theatre, The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Houston Cinema Arts Society, Captive Studios, and local media outlets such as the Houston Chronicle, Fox 26, ABC 13, 93.7 The Beat, and Mix 96.5, helping amplify the movement and bring more visibility to Black storytelling in Houston. Our focus is simple: build infrastructure, create access, and elevate Black storytelling at scale.
