About Black in Biomed

A network of like-minded black individuals seeking to inspire and change the narrative of black individuals in Biomedical science. The Black in Biomed Undergraduate Conference was founded in 2023 by Dr Bernadine Idowu, a black associate professor at the University of West London. The conference was launched to provide undergraduate students with resources and opportunities available to them after graduation. Our network is growing larger year after year, as we have our annual conferences. However, we are also focusing on facilitating more events, workshops, and networking opportunities to help our fellow black students and young professionals succeed in the world of Biomedical Science.
