About Black Physicians of Tomorrow

For over a decade, Black Physicians of Tomorrow (BPT) has been a not-for-profit collective committed to equipping Afro-Caribbean Canadian (ACC) youth with the tools, mentorship, and resources needed to pursue and succeed in medicine and allied health professions. Our mission is to advance a more equitable and representative healthcare system that reflects the diverse communities across Canada. Through early exposure, leadership development, and culturally responsive, Afrocentric programming, BPT works to increase participation within the ACC community and empower youth to become active stakeholders in both their personal well-being and the health of their communities. Through our flagship program, STEAMWorks, we offer free weekly academic mentorship and homework support for ACC students across STEAM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). Our programming is further supported by life skills, professional development, wellness-focused, and culturally affirming workshops designed to nurture academic success, confidence, and holistic growth.
