The company manufactures conveyor pulleys and idlers and offers pulley refurbishing, general fabrication, heat treatment, plate rolling, and supplies wear lining products and solutions. Bosworth was established in 1943 as a general fabricator. In the ensuing decades, the company naturally evolved into a leading manufacturer and supplier of bulk materials handling equipment with an emphasis on conveyor pulleys. The company has supplied pulleys and related equipment to material handling projects globally. Bosworth operates from two manufacturing facilities in Alrode, Johannesburg. Both facilities are self-sufficient in terms of power generation. The pulley manufacturing plant is equipped with a combination of solar power and standby generator capacity to ensure production disruptions are minimised.
