About Brasserie Kluiz

The kluiz brewery is in anseroeul, a small verdant village at the foot of mont-de-l’enclus in belgium. It derives its name from "kluizenaar", the dutch word for “hermit”. According to legend, liedericq, the first count of flanders and the founder of the city of lille and of bruges, was born there. Many place names still contain references to this legend. The summit of the mountain is 141 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by abundant flora and fauna. Many tourists come and explore in family groups here. Several walks through wallonia and through flanders are offered. The numerous sources of the mountain supply a high-quality groundwater table rich in minerals and limestone, ingredients that are essential to the production of kluiz.
