About BREACC - Brazilian Educational and Cultural Centre
BREACC is a non-profit institution, created and maintained by volunteer parents who, in their desire to see their Brazilian language and culture transmitted to their children, got together and organized a small group that has now grown and is structured with two centers, located in Twickenham and Bournemouth, England. Being the oldest Portuguese as a Heritage Language school in England, established in 1997 and registered at Charity Comission in 1999, BREACC is proud to be part of the history of hundreds of families who contributed to its creation, development and also benefited from this project. Much more than just teaching the Portuguese language, our goal is to introduce children to different learning paths, which pass through the Brazilian cultural diversity, involving crafts, music, poetry, literature, history, legends, theater and food, among others, all in Portuguese. And it is this differentiated teaching/learning process that we call POLH. When we learn a Heritage Language, we are, in fact, getting to know our roots and building our identity. And so, over the years, BREACC has been teaching in Portuguese how to be Brazilian in the "Land of the Queen" (now, Land of the King). Welcome to our Brazilian Community.
