It takes about 8,000 liters of water, pesticides, and nutrient-rich soil to produce a pair of conventional cotton jeans. At the same time, a large portion of the clothing produced ends up in the trash, unworn. Breddys relies on an alternative fiber: the castor bean plant. It grows without pesticides, requires less water, and thrives in poor soil. Pants made from this material are water-, wind-, and dirt-repellent, antibacterial, wrinkle-free, and temperature-regulating—suitable for everyday wear and outdoor use. Our collection features two materials: BIOS +: 48% castor oil, 48% polyamide, 4% Lycra BIOS: 96% castor oil, 4% Lycra (coming soon) All pants are produced in Europe. This allows us to combine resource conservation, functionality, and local manufacturing.
