About British Neuropsychological Society

The British Neuropsychological Society (BNS) was formed in 1989 as a result of the joining together of two former groups: the Neuropsychology Interest Group (NIG) and the Cognitive Neuropsychology Group (COGNIG). The amalgamation was based on the insight that there is a positive symbiotic relationship between clinical investigations of patients with neuropsychological impairments and basic cognitive science. The society has two scientific meetings per year, in Queen Square London. They award 4 prizes annually in recognition of research excellence, and several grants and bursaries.
