Die Bundesanstalt Fachstelle Normungsbeteiligung ist die Vertretung der Interessen von Verbraucherinnen und Verbrauchern sowie von Menschen mit Behinderungen in der Normung. Unsere Hauptaufgabe ist die Teilnahme in Komitees und Arbeitsgruppen, in denen die Normungsarbeit geschieht, um Perspektiven von Verbraucherinnen und Verbrauchern sowie von Menschen mit Behinderungen bei der Erarbeitung der Normen in den Gremien aktiv einzubringen. __________________________________________________________________________________________ The Austrian Consumer Department in Standardisation advocates for consumer protection and accessibility in the development of standards. Our core mission is to ensure that the perspectives of consumers and persons with disabilities are effectively represented in national and international standardisation processes. Standards influence nearly every aspect of daily life — from product safety and usability to digital accessibility and inclusive design. While their application is often voluntary, standards can have significant legal and practical impact, especially within the European regulatory framework. By actively participating in committees and working groups, we help shape standards that make products and services safer, more inclusive, and user-friendly.
