The company operates a fleet of 137 government-licensed taxi vehicles, comprising sedans and station wagons for up to four passengers, maxi taxis for up to 10 passengers, as well as wheelchair-capable vehicles to support accessible transport across the region. With more than 500 government-authorised affiliated drivers, the fleet operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Vehicles are equipped with computerised booking and dispatch facilities, including GPS technology, enabling the nearest available vehicle to be dispatched efficiently. Each taxi is equipped with electronic payment facilities, enabling payment through all major credit cards recognised in Australia. What many people may not realise is that Cairns Taxis also plays an important role behind the scenes in supporting local communities beyond passenger transport.
