About California-Pacific-Northwest AI Hardware Hub

The California–Pacific–Northwest AI Hardware Hub (Northwest-AI-Hub) is one of eight regional Microelectronics Commons Hubs funded by the CHIPS and Science Act. It serves as a collaborative infrastructure of physical and virtual facilities dedicated to accelerating the lab-to-fab transition of AI hardware technologies. By bringing together academia, national laboratories, and industry partners, the Northwest-AI-Hub fosters innovation across the entire semiconductor value chain—from materials and devices to EDA and chip design, packaging, system prototyping, and testing. This collaboration bridges the “valley of death” between research and commercialization, enabling system-scale demonstrations that ensure the commercial viability of breakthrough AI hardware. Together, our network of over 40 institutions works to meet both regional and national needs, driving scalable and manufacturable AI hardware solutions that advance U.S. leadership in microelectronics.
