About California Training Institute (CalTrin)

The California Training Institute (CalTrin) provides a comprehensive, science-based professional education program to meet the needs of administrators, staff, and stakeholders of the family resource centers (FRCs), Child Abuse Prevention Councils (CAPCs), community-based organizations, and other child- and family-serving systems in the state of California. We believe that prevention-focused professional development should be accessible and applicable to your daily work. Our innovative learning model enables child- and family-serving professionals to choose training and educational experiences that work for their schedule, learning style, and career path—all at no cost to learners. Learners engage with CalTrin by attending live, virtual training, completing self-paced courses, and exploring our extensive archive of recorded trainings and materials. Training is organized around four domains: Direct Service Delivery Skills, Evidence-Based/Evidence-Informed Service Delivery, Management & Leadership Development, and Trauma-Informed Systems.
