About Cambridge University Punjabi Society

The Cambridge University Punjabi Society was founded to represent and celebrate Punjabi heritage within the University of Cambridge. Our mission is simple: to provide a home for students to connect with Punjabi traditions, language, and values, while creating an inclusive platform open to all who wish to learn more. Despite being one of Cambridge’s newer cultural societies, in just our first few months we have grown to over 250 active members. We have also already built meaningful relationships with cultural societies across Cambridge, as well as Punjabi societies at universities across the country. Collaboration lies at the heart of what we do. We have worked with Sikh Society to keep faith and culture closely connected, and partnered with Embrace Cambridge to organise a donation drive - a reflection of Punjabi values like community and sharing. Our events aim to reflect both celebration and substance. From talks at the Cambridge Union with influential figures, to Punjabi language lessons and social gatherings, we aim to provide members with opportunities for personal growth, cultural immersion, and community building. Accessibility is central to our vision. Thanks to our expanding network of sponsors, all of our solo Punjabi Society events have been free of charge - something we are keen to grow as we continue to deliver bigger and more ambitious programmes! Looking ahead, we are committed to strengthening our role as a vibrant hub for culture, dialogue, and community at Cambridge - bringing the spirit of Punjab to the heart of the University.
