About Camp Timanous

Camp Timanous is a traditional boys’ overnight camp in Raymond, Maine, with more than 100 summers of history on the shores of Panther Pond. Guided by the values of Body, Mind, and Spirit, Timanous provides a nurturing environment where boys ages 8–15 grow in confidence, independence, and community. Each day at camp blends structure and choice: instructional and recreational swimming, outdoor living skills, athletics, crafts, sailing, and other activities are paired with free-choice periods, cabin life, and all-camp traditions. Through this rhythm, boys discover new skills, develop resilience, and form lifelong friendships. Our program is intentionally small—around 140 campers each summer—allowing every boy to be known and supported by counselors who are both skilled leaders and role models. Multi-generational continuity is one of Timanous’s defining strengths: many staff are alumni, and families often span decades of connection. At Timanous, we believe in the power of simple living, time in nature, and fellowship. Our community thrives on respect, kindness, and shared purpose, instilling in campers a sense of belonging and the confidence to contribute to the world with integrity. For more than a century, Timanous has been more than just a summer—it has been a foundation for growth, a place of joy, and a home away from home for boys from across the country and around the world.
