About Canadian Association of Amateur Astronomers

The Canadian Association of Amateur Astronomers (CAAA) is a non-profit organization committed to fostering interest and education in astronomy and astrophysics across Canada. Our primary services encompass organizing national-level competitions and workshops, offering immersive summer camps for students, and annually selecting and training a team to represent Canada at the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiads. We are passionate about creating opportunities for young, aspiring astronomers to cultivate their skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm for the field. Our competitions, held throughout the year, challenge students to expand their understanding of the universe, while our hands-on workshops provide practical insights into the exciting world of astronomy. Our summer camps are memorable experiences that allow students to learn from professional astronomers and interact with like-minded peers. Furthermore, our International Olympiad participation highlights Canada's commitment to nurturing talent on a global platform. In all our initiatives, we strive to make astronomy and astrophysics accessible and engaging for Canada's young minds, fostering the next generation of scientific explorers.
