About Canadian Brain Research Strategy

At the core of the Canadian Brain Research Strategy (CBRS) is the conviction that we need to foster better neurological and mental well-being for all Canadians. We achieve this by leveraging our strengths and driving progress in brain and mental health research across the country. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: CBRS serves as a catalyst for collaboration, bringing together diverse sectors in brain research, including academia, private sector, non-profits, research funders, patient and Indigenous stakeholders. 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆: Our mission is to develop a national research strategy for brain and mental health, making it a top scientific priority in Canada. 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: CBRS facilitates a bottom-up grassroots effort, uniting the brain research ecosystem, while advocating for top-down government support and funding.
