About Cape Town City Ballet

Founded in 1934, Cape Town City Ballet (CTCB) is one of South Africa’s oldest and most respected ballet companies, recognised for its rich heritage and world-class productions. Based in Cape Town, we present a diverse repertoire that spans timeless classical ballets, innovative contemporary works, and bold new commissions, showcasing the artistry and athleticism of our dancers. Beyond the stage, CTCB is committed to making ballet accessible to all. Through education and outreach initiatives, we bring the magic of dance to underserved communities and nurture the next generation of artists and audiences. As a registered non-profit company, CTCB actively builds partnerships with sponsors, patrons, and cultural organisations to ensure the continued growth of the performing arts in South Africa. We invite you to follow our journey, join us in celebrating the transformative power of dance, and be part of a legacy that has inspired audiences for over 90 years.
