About Capital for Resilience Advisors
Capital for Resilience Advisors (CFRA) is a Heidelberg-based institutional advisory firm specialised on private markets. The firm serves a selective number of US-based general partners seeking structured, compliant access to the DACH and broader European institutional market. Our advisory spans three structurally connected pillars: platform strategy and go-to-market architecture; GP/LP governance frameworks and decision structures; and product design across private credit, infrastructure, private equity, impact, and blended finance. For US GPs, this translates into concrete support on: European market access and distribution strategy, ELTIF 2.0 structuring, AIFMD 2.0 liquidity requirements, the evolving ESG framework for defense and security-related investments, and the opening of the German private pension market (Säule 3 / Altersvorsorgedepot). CFRA delivers integrated and structural solutions in collaboration with leading global investment law firms, tax practices, and audit firms. In select cases, the firm supports GPs structuring dialogue with key European regulators (CSSF, BAFIN, FCA, FINMA) as well as investor related matters (fundraising considerations, governance matters, LPAC engagement). We work independently — without product interest and without a distribution mandate — exclusively at senior level, in structurally relevant decisions with material impact on strategy, P&L, or institutional reputation. CFRA is led by Dr. Oliver Heiland, whose career spans over 20 years across the full lifecycle of institutional private markets. Trained at Allen & Overy, he built multi-access credit structures (>€2bn) for institutional investors at Deka, led global coverage for Alternative Investments & Advisory Legal at Allianz GI during the build-out of their private markets platform (>€85bn AUM), and served as Managing Director of a CSSF-regulated AIFM (>€4bn AUM), where he held accountability across investment committees, risk committees, and sustainability committees, and engaged directly with LP Advisory Committees. CFRA publishes the monthly X-Series, a practitioner-focused research series on private markets governance and structural risk. The series is available upon request.
