About Cardboardia

«Cardboardia 'towns' are temporary, collaboratively built and inhabited towns manifesting in Russia, Finland, Germany and other places. Cardboardia is, in essence, a role playing community, where guests can create a new identity while contributing to the growth of the town, using cardboard as their expressive and artistic medium. Every town created under the Cardboardia title is a place where people can reinvent themselves - where, for a short time, everyone can leave behind their daily worries through new ways of self-expression. Cardboardia brings together all people of all ages and backgrounds in a conflict free environment. All the participants have the equal significance and room for self expression.» (Black Rock Arts Foundation,blackrockarts.org) Project list of Cardboardia: • Pahvistan - 5.1 materialization (Helsinki, Kasarmitori, 18-23 August 2009) as part of Helsinki Festival; • CardboardTown Free! - 5th materialization (Moscow, Red October Factory, 8-14 June 2009); • PappeStadt - party-presentation (Berlin, Brotfabrik, 21 march 2009); • Cardboardia's Parade - 4th materialization (Moscow, Gogolevskij Boulevard, 6-7 September 2008) as part of Day of Moscow; • Tyran's Cardboard Garden - 3d materialization (Moscow, Shusew Museum, 21 May 2008) as part of Anglomania Festival; • CardboardTown - 2nd materialization (Moscow, PROEKT_FABRIKA, January 2008); • PaperTown - 1st materialization (Moscow, Kolomenskoje, 27 July 2007) as part of Afisha's Picnic Festival.
