Caribbean Gas Chemical Limited (CGCL) is a locally registered, state-of-art, gas to petrochemical (Joint Venture) facility located at Union Industrial Estate (UIE), La Brea. Construction of the gas to petrochemical facility commenced in September 2015 and Commercial Operations status was achieved in December 2020. The plant produces circa 1,000,000 metric tonnes of Methanol per year (MTPY), and has the capacity to produce 20,000 MTPY of Dimethyl Ether (DME) - an environmentally friendly alternative to diesel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
