About Cascina Alberona - Italian Rice
The Cascina Alberona Farm is located in Mortara in the province of Pavia in the flat areas of Lomellina, a land of rice fields. The business began in 1988, when the owner Luigi Ferraris, took over the agricultural activity of his paternal grandparents. The estate covers an area of 130 hectares planted with rice, corn and poplars and is specialized in the production of the Carnaroli Classico, Baldo Classico, S. Andrea Classico, Arborio,Black, Red, aromatic Apollo and Originario rice varieties with a production of around 700/800 tons of paddy rice per year. We also participate in the project of the Chamber of Commerce of Pavia "La Via del Carnaroli" which aims to promote and discover Carnaroli rice. All in full compliance with the rules imposed by the rural development plan to which we adhere by putting in place some measures aimed at safeguarding and conserving biodiversity in the rice field. Cascina Alberona's rice is proud of the "Italian Rice" brand issued by the "Ente Nazionale Risi" which guarantees the origin, nature and quality of the rice. Our varieties are also available in the form of risottos and soups ready only to cook and enjoy. Rice derivatives such as flour, pasta, rice beers, biscuits and breadsticks are also produced on the farm. Through the production and then the direct sale of rice, we are able to guarantee a high quality standard. From the field to the table. We like to call ourselves "Rice Artists": a good risotto is born in the countryside, in the rice fields, and ends up on our plates for a high quality and genuine cuisine.
