About Catholic Military Apostolate of the United States

Welcome to the Catholic Military Apostolate of the United States (CMA-US)—a spiritual lifeline for Catholic service members, veterans, and their families. We are a lay apostolate dedicated to nurturing Catholic faith within the unique challenges of military life. Through prayer, fellowship, and vibrant community, we strive to ensure that no Catholic in the military feels isolated in their faith journey. Our Mission "Our mission is to promote Catholic culture within the ranks of the U.S. military and support Catholic service members in the sanctification of military life." Our Purpose Life in the military brings extraordinary demands, often pulling service members away from the support structures they need to sustain their Catholic faith. Many face: Isolation: Frequent relocations disrupt their ability to connect with new faith communities. Decreasing Support: A shortage of Catholic chaplains and limited chapel resources often leave Catholics without consistent pastoral care. Cultural Pressures: Secular environments can make it challenging to live and practice their faith openly, leading some to feel marginalized or discouraged. Resource Disparities: Catholics often encounter fewer resources and programs compared to Protestant-led initiatives on military installations. CMA-US exists to foster a thriving Catholic culture across the U.S. military. We provide the support, resources, and community needed to help Catholics grow spiritually, stay rooted in their faith, and find a sense of belonging—no matter where their service takes them. In collaboration with the Archdiocese for Military Services (AMS), we encourage active participation in the sacraments, faith formation, and meaningful connections among Catholic service members and their families.
