About Catskill Mountain Shakespeare

Catskill Mountain Shakespeare (“CMS”) is committed to bringing world class theater to the Catskills. We pride ourselves on being fiscally conscious, community-oriented and unpretentious. CMS creates theatrical experiences that are directly inspired by and for the region. CMS prioritizes hiring artists from underrepresented communities. It is critical to CMS’s mission to give back to the Catskills community. We pride ourselves in creating professional theater in a low-income and rural region that has been neglected by professional and accessible performance. We rise to the responsibility of creating opportunities for the community to come together, share their voice, and learn from professionals.
