About CCCL Film Festival

Founded by Christopher G. Moore in November 2019, Changing Climate Changing Lives (CCCL) Film Festival aims to raise awareness about climate change through the power of short films. CCCL provides a platform for filmmakers and communities to visualize stories about the climate crisis. As Southeast Asia’s first film festival that specifically focuses on the theme of climate change, each year CCCL offers up to 10 film production grants and climate filmmaking mentorship to Southeast Asian filmmakers. CCCL holds an Asia-wide climate short film competition annually and awards are given in two categories, documentary and non-documentary (drama, hybrid, comedy, sci-fi, experimental, animation, etc.). CCCL flagship annual festival is held in Bangkok with satellite screening across Thailand. The 6th edition of CCCL will be held during 12-21 June 2026. The festival will screen the finalist Asian short films in the competition program and specially curated global shorts and feature films in the non-competition program. The festival will also feature a workshop for filmmakers, where CCCL film grant finalists will pitch their projects. The festival main features include film screenings, talks and special events, and the award night. Since 2020, CCCL has showcased over 150 climate short films selected from over 2,500 submissions from filmmakers around Asia, and specially curated short and feature films from around the world. In the past 5 years we have provided film grants to 73 short films projects. CCCL-supported films have been screened at over 20 international festivals and events in 17 countries. Some have won international awards. CCCL's main supports are the Department of Cultural Promotion, Ministry of Culture of Thailand, Heinrich Böll Stiftung Southeast Asia, and private donors. CCCL actively collaborates with over 50 partners locally and internationally.
