About Center for Mental Health Equity CMHE

Mental Health Equity means fair access to opportunities to attain high-quality mental health care for all, regardless of social, economic, and demographic status. However, in our society, not everyone has equitable access to resources and services when they need them. This lack of access can be related to a lack of affordable therapy, culturally informed and linguistically appropriate services for diverse clients, and unequal access to mental health education. Sometimes, individuals’ gender, ethnic and racial background, disability, and sexual orientation impact access to mental health services because of discrimination and systemic oppression.
