About Centre for International Law Research and Policy (CILRAP)

The Centre for International Law Research and Policy (CILRAP) contributes to international law knowledge-generation and -dissemination for practitioners, policy makers, researchers and others. CILRAP promotes communitarian scholarship around the ideas, concepts and questions it opens up for research and discussion. It has produced and maintains substantial thematic libraries online. It owns the independent Torkel Opsahl Academic EPublisher (TOAEP) which has published more than 920 authors and, in November 2022, was the first publisher to be certified by the Digital Public Goods Alliance as a digital public good. CILRAP also offers services such as Lexsitus, CILRAP Film (with more than 500 films), CILRAP Conversations on World Order, CILRAP Podcast, and grants the M.C. Bassiouni Justice Award. CILRAP’s Case Matrix Network (CMN) department engages in knowledge-transfer and capacity development and has been active in more than 30 countries. It seeks to empower those working on core international crimes cases or documentation, by providing access to legal information, legal expertise, and open access tools in the CMN Knowledge Hub.
