About Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA)
Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) is an independent, non-profit organization established in 1987 to protect consumers and the collision repair industry by setting trusted standards for automotive replacement parts. CAPA exists solely in the public interest. We do not manufacture, sell, or distribute parts—and we have no financial stake in which parts pass or fail certification. Our role is to provide independent, unbiased verification of quality, safety, and performance. Through rigorous, transparent testing, CAPA Certification helps consumers, auto body shops, parts distributors, insurers, and regulators identify replacement parts that fit properly, perform reliably, last over time, and meet safety expectations comparable to original equipment. Appearance, branding, or visual inspection alone cannot determine whether a part will truly perform as intended. To date, more than 193 million replacement parts have earned CAPA Certification, making it one of the most widely respected quality assurance programs in the automotive aftermarket. CAPA Certification is also recognized by government and regulatory agencies as an assurance of quality. Every CAPA-Certified part carries the distinctive blue and yellow CAPA Quality Seal, which appears only on parts that meet or exceed CAPA Standards. No seal. No certification. ________________________________________ Vision To be the most trusted industry standard for quality automotive replacement parts and services that protect consumers. Mission To ensure consumers have access to high-quality automotive replacement parts and services by identifying safe, sustainable options at competitive prices.
