Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) is Mexicos state-owned electric utility company, founded in 1937 and responsible for the generation, transmission, distribution, and commercialization of electricity across Mexico. It serves approximately 26.9 million customers representing nearly 80 million inhabitants, making it one of the largest electric companies in Latin America. CFE is a wholly government-owned productive enterprise operating under the mandate of the Mexican Constitution to provide electricity throughout the national territory.
