About Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project

CTAOP strengthens the health and safety of young people in Southern Africa to unleash their power and potential. We envision a world where all young people are safe, healthy, and able to thrive. CTAOP partners with community-based organizations (our Program Partners) that support young people, their sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and work to prevent gender-based violence (GBV). By mobilizing funding and relationships, strengthening capacity, and bringing awareness to the work of our Program Partners, we support youth as they pursue a healthier, more equitable future for themselves and their communities. CTAOP was founded in 2007 by Charlize Theron, Academy Award winning actor and UN Messenger of Peace, with the hope of making a difference in her home country of South Africa.
