About Chemical Society of Ethiopia (CSE)

The Chemical Society of Ethiopia traces its origin to November 1982 when some 40 chemists from various schools, regional educational office, the Addis Ababa University, the Central Laboratory and research institutes and the Ethiopian Science and Technology Commission attended a UNESCO-sponsored workshop organized by the Ministry of Education on the theme: "Modernization of Chemistry Education in Ethiopia". The CSE was officially founded in 1983 and is presently run by an Executive Committee (EC) that is elected by members during the Annual Congress of the Society. The EC consists of a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, editor-in-chief, auditor and two additional members and secretariat.
