About Chesapeake Watershed Initiative

Funded by grants from the Richard King Mellon Foundation and The Steinman Foundation, and opperating out of Franklin and Marshall College, the CWI is an interdisciplinary project aimed at restoring the health of tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed through a three-fold approach: (1) research, (2) education, and (3) action. Through region-wide mapping and monitoring of legacy sediment erosion, the CWI aims to develop outreach tools that will transform Chesapeake restoration, improve stream habitat and water quality, and reduce flooding.
