China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) is a Chinese state-owned multinational oil and gas corporation headquartered in Dongcheng District, Beijing, and one of the largest integrated energy groups in the world. The company is engaged in the exploration, development, production, refining, and marketing of oil and natural gas, as well as the construction and operation of pipelines. CNPC is the parent company of PetroChina, which is listed on the Hong Kong and Shanghai stock exchanges.
