About Cinema Sõprus / Kino Sõprus

Cinema Sõprus is the legend on its own - as the oldest existing cinema in Estonia it is continually considered to be the only real art-house cinema, due to it‘s non-mainstream and quirky film selection. The building with its grand façade itself was commissioned in 1955 at the height of Stalinism and since it was opened received 6-7,000 visitors per day. Since February 2010 the cinema is operated by NPO Black Hand and is mostly privately funded. ------- Legendaarne kino Sõprus rõõmustab filmisõpru juba aastast 1955, aastast 2010 vastutab kino opereerimise eest ka filmide maaletoojana tegutsev MTÜ Must Käsi. Peale väikest uuenduskuuri kino ruumides on Sõprus püsinud igapäevaselt avatuna ja pakkunud publikule laia valikut väärtfilme kogu maailmast.
