About COAST Facility

The COAST Facility is a game-changer for vulnerable coastal communities facing the urgent threats of climate change. Part of the wider Climate and Ocean Adaptation and Sustainable Transition (COAST) programme, funded by the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office through the Blue Planet Fund, we drive real and lasting change from July 2025 to March 2030. The Facility delivers expert technical assistance and flexible grants to support local action in Indonesia, Mozambique, the Philippines, and Viet Nam, while also providing targeted support beyond these countries. Our three core workstreams focus on strengthening governance and policy, promoting inclusive coastal stewardship and sustainable livelihoods, and enabling responsive coastal management at a wider scale. By combining national reform, community empowerment, and global advocacy, the COAST Facility reshapes how coastal resources are managed. We build resilience, boost prosperity, and safeguard the marine environment—helping coastal communities adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing world.
