Communitas of Art Therapy – Mission and Vision Statement Our Vision As an art therapy community, Communitas of Art Therapy acknowledges the healing importance of belonging and creativity. Through an eco-friendly, arts-centered, exploratory approach, CAT underscores the need for creativity-based and community-centered gatherings and trainings that cultivate compassionate curiosity and loving-kindness toward all beings. Our Mission Communitas of Art Therapy (CAT) is an international art therapy community. CAT aims to expand access to art therapy resources, materials, training, and knowledge for artists, psychologists, counselors, and individuals working across a wide range of fields. CAT supports the development of a genuine understanding of art therapy by creating opportunities to experience, learn, and integrate its practices. CAT promotes an eco-friendly, multidisciplinary, diversity- and inclusion-oriented approach to art therapy practice and training. In the spirit of solidarity, CAT collaborates with local associations and organizations to co-organize art therapy trainings and workshops. CAT fulfills its mission by organizing gatherings, trainings, and workshops in Europe, Turkey, and online. CAT also works to make art therapy resources and trainings more accessible by translating books and other materials (such as articles and art therapy cards), inviting international trainers to build a global network, offering simultaneous interpretation when needed, and hosting online workshops.
