About Community Foundation of Boone County

The Community Foundation of Boone County was formed by a group of passionate and caring Boone County residents who wanted to build resources that would benefit nonprofits and residents of Boone County forever. In 1991, with their support, $15,000, and funds from Lilly Endowment Inc., the Community Foundation of Boone County was established. Today, CFBC holds more than $40 million in assets and has granted over $31 million from its various funds to nonprofit organizations and programs working to solve critical challenges in Boone County. We engage the community and educate citizens on how they can make a difference here at home. We invest in the people, programs, and organizations that transform lives and communities. We lead a vision for collaborative solutions to address the root causes of challenges facing our community in diverse & equitable ways.
