About Connected Oregon Padauk Education
Connected Oregon Padauk Education (COPE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering marginalized children and youth from Myanmar with access to quality education. Founded by Thu Ta, an experienced educator with over 15 years of teaching in both Myanmar and the U.S., COPE builds on a strong foundation of academic expertise and lived experience. Thu Ta holds two Master’s degrees—an M.A. in English Literature (2019, Lashio University) and an M.Sc. in Educational Policy and Leadership (2023, University of Oregon)—along with a Microcredential in Child Behavioral Health (2025, University of Oregon). Their unique blend of global perspective, local roots, and deep teaching experience equips them to lead COPE with both vision and credibility. 🌍 Our Vision Empowering every child and youth from Myanmar to access their right to education through connected learning, ensuring all can explore, grow, and succeed—regardless of barriers. 🎯 Our Mission To provide accessible educational opportunities to children and youth left out of mainstream education through collaborative projects with international organizations. 📚 What We Do Train teachers in trauma-informed practices to better support students in times of conflict. Provide language development programs for children in border areas. Mentor youth aspiring to continue their studies abroad. Partner with universities, nonprofits, and international organizations to expand access to connected education. 🤝 Why We Exist Myanmar’s children and youth face immense challenges—civil conflict, displacement, poverty, and disrupted schooling. Without urgent action, we risk losing an entire generation to cycles of instability. COPE exists to change that story—through education, hope, and global collaboration. ✨ Join Us We welcome donors, partners, and education organizations to collaborate in shaping brighter futures for Myanmar’s children. Together, we can ensure education is not a privilege, but a universal right.
