About Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology - CICS

CICS offers psychosexual and relationship therapy courses for psychologists, counsellors, sexual health professionals, medical doctors and professionals seeking to specialise in sexology. CICS’s programmes have been developed to provide a high-quality learning experience in preparation for ethical, professional, robust, research-based practice in the field of sex and relationship psychotherapy. Diversity is embedded into everything we do. And that is not just words – we mean it and we can demonstrate it. Several of our Faculty members are Pink Therapy endorsed Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity Tutors. Our Diploma in Clinical Sexology and Relationship Therapy course has been awarded formal Pink Therapy endorsement as a Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) inclusive training, following an extensive audit of our whole programme. At CICS we explicitly state our commitment to being an anti-racism organisation and our training follows the guidance of the Coalition for Inclusion and Anti-Oppressive Practice. We are a Disability Confident Committed organisation, and our course access policy and assessment protocols ensure that we support individual student needs in relation to all forms of disability and neurodivergence. Our courses are all accredited by the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), meaning that we meet the stringent requirements of the UK’s only accrediting body for sex and relationship therapists. Our courses will teach you how to work with sex and relationship themes with individuals, couples and multiple-partnered people. We acknowledge and celebrate that not all intimate relationships are between two people.
