About Cooking For Souls at Ohio University

Cooking for Souls is a student-led community service organization dedicated to fighting food insecurity and supporting individuals and families in need throughout the Athens, Ohio, community. Through volunteer-prepared meals, local partnerships, and outreach initiatives, our mission is to provide not only nourishment but also comfort, dignity, and connection. We believe that a warm meal can do more than feed someone — it can remind them they are seen, valued, and supported. Our members work together to plan, prepare, and distribute meals while developing leadership, teamwork, and service-oriented skills. By combining compassion with action, Cooking for Souls aims to make a lasting impact both in the community and in the lives of our volunteers.
