About Council for Countering Online Disinformation (CCOD)
The Council for Countering Online Disinformation (CCOD) is the first industry association and advocacy group of its kind committed to promoting solutions on behalf of members of the U.K. government to protect information integrity. Ofcom now estimates that more than four in ten have been exposed to online mis/disinformation, with seven in ten of those exposed having seen it online. With the world entering a new technological era, influencing opinion and human decision-making through false and misleading content has never been so easy. The CCOD is a mission-led organisation, founded by the minds behind Polis Analysis, with two primary goals: 1. We aim to influence the policy and regulatory environment to ensure that the UK government effectively tackles the growing issue of online misinformation and disinformation 2. Our objective is to bring together the key actors working across the information integrity ecosystem, and ensure that those at the forefront of developing innovative solutions to online disinformation are given a prominent voice in shaping public policy outcomes
