About Counselling Matters

We offer a warm and professional counselling and supervision service, both face-to-face and online. We work with adults and children, individuals, couples and families. While most of our clients self-refer, we also take work from Merseyside Fire and Rescue, Merseyside Police, Childrens' Services and other organisations. Our ethos is that every person matters, so we endeavour to tailor our service to meet the specific need of each individual client. While we offer various modalities including person-centred counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitisation and reprogramming (EMDR) and emotional freedom technique (EFT), we don't work to a specific formula. Rather, we listen to you, the client, and try to deliver the most appropriate therapy for you. In addition to counselling, we offer casework supervision to practitioners, caseworkers, mentors and other related professions. While all elements of supervision are important, our primary focus is on the developmental, supportive and restorative aspects, helping our supervisees develop their confidence, competence and professionalism. Counselling Matters also promotes and facilitates training and development events for counsellors and other practitioners.
