About CREF - Enrico Fermi Research Center and Museum
The Enrico Fermi-CREF Research Center was created to realize what the physicist wanted to do in Italy: a study and research centre at the frontiers of science. The headquarters are located in the historic 'building' in Via Panisperna, where Enrico Fermi and his group, with their discoveries, made a crucial contribution to modern physics. Our mission is twofold: On the one hand, we want to disseminate Fermi's complex scientific work and the historical events connected to it, thanks to the setting up of a Museum dedicated to Fermi's scientific legacy and various initiatives for dissemination, with particular attention to schools and universities. On the other hand, to develop its own scientific activity oriented towards the present and the future, with a core of interdisciplinary and innovative research precisely in the spirit that characterized Enrico Fermi's activities.
