About CREL | Conflict Research and Evidence Lab

The Conflict Research and Evidence Lab (CREL) is a consultancy firm, dedicated to promoting research and evaluations in fragile and conflict-affected states. Our portfolio includes baseline and evaluation studies, research reports, gender analyses, peace and conflict impact assessments, meta reviews, and feasibility studies. As a women-led organization, CREL places a distinct emphasis on evidence generation to bolster the participation, protection, and empowerment of women and groups particularly disenfranchised by conflict. Our team is well-versed in a broad range of evaluation methods and techniques, including (quasi-) experimental, theory-based, and realist evaluation methodologies. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and open-source solutions such as Kobo and R for data collection and statistical computing, we offer reliable and cost-efficient solutions. Through collaborative partnerships with national and regional experts and consultancy firms, we provide robust data collection capabilities across diverse geographic regions. Our track record includes successfully executing research projects across a wide spectrum of regions. We have undertaken research and evaluation initiatives in some of the world’s most fragile and challenging contexts, including Afghanistan, Iraq, Myanmar, Ukraine, Sierra Leone, Liberia and the Central African Republic.
