About CUYAHOGA VALLEY ART CENTER
About Cuyahoga Valley Art Center: Nestled in the heart of historic downtown Cuyahoga Falls, the Cuyahoga Valley Art Center (CVAC) has enriched lives through the visual arts for over 90 years. Founded in 1934, CVAC is Summit County’s oldest nonprofit visual art organization and the only art center of its kind in the region. Our mission is to foster a greater understanding of the visual arts through education, exhibition, and community engagement — but what truly defines us is the creative community that brings this mission to life. Each year, we welcome 1,300+ students to explore their creativity through 150+ classes and workshops in painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, and more. Our dedicated faculty and staff create a welcoming environment where learners of all ages — from 2nd graders to retirees — can discover and grow. Thanks to our Vibrant Palette Scholarship Fund, supported by the PNC Foundation and community donors, CVAC helps bridge the gap for students who might otherwise be unable to participate due to cost, expanding access to the joy of creative learning. CVAC’s gallery exhibitions are a cornerstone of our work, attracting over 550 artists to submit work from across Ohio and beyond. These exhibitions draw 14,000+ visitors and serve as cultural touchstones where artists and art lovers connect, learn, and celebrate creativity together. Collaboration is central to our mission. We partner with the Cuyahoga Falls Library, Cuyahoga Falls City Schools, and Akron Art Museum, and lead the CreativeCONNECT network, uniting local membership-based art groups— fostering collaboration and collective visibility for the visual arts. At its core, CVAC is a home for creativity — a place where beginners take their first brushstroke, professionals refine their craft, and neighbors connect through the shared language of art. Whether you join a class, attend an exhibition, or support a scholarship, you become part of a vibrant legacy nearly a century in the making.
