About Cymera: Scotland's Festival of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Writing

Cymera sets out to provide access to, and meeting places for, readers and writer of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror in Scotland. Our main activity is our annual festival at the Pleasance, Edinburgh, at the beginning of June, which aims to celebrate the enjoyment of the Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror genres by bringing together writers and readers from Scotland and beyond, to share ideas, create stories and nurture imaginations. Cymera is the first and only festival of its kind in the UK, and first took place in 2019. The June festival is supplemented by various one-off events during the year.
