About D'ABOVILLE Foundation and Demo Farm, Inc. (DAF)

The D’ABOVILLE Foundation & Demo Farm (DAF) is a Filipino–French non-profit working at the intersection of biodiversity conservation, Indigenous rights, sustainable agriculture, and eco-cultural tourism on Mindoro Island, Philippines. We protect ecosystems and endangered species—led by the tamaraw—while strengthening Indigenous stewardship and supporting resilient, community-led development. Biodiversity & Tamaraw Conservation: DAF promotes a rights-based, biocultural landscape approach across Mindoro, developed since 2013 through ecological research, social sciences, wildlife crime prevention, and permaculture. Through the UK Aid DARWIN Initiative project Thriving Together with Tamaraw (2024–2029), led by Re:wild with DAF and MBCFI, we scale Indigenous-led conservation, science-based action, and collaborative management across all tamaraw habitats. Indigenous Rights & Cultural Heritage: We work with the Hanunuo, Taobuid, and Alangan peoples to strengthen land rights, Indigenous knowledge systems, community governance, and co-management of ancestral territories where protected areas and biodiversity hotspots overlap. Sustainable Agriculture & Demonstration Farms: DAF promotes agroecology, permaculture, and regenerative food systems through its Demo Farm, supporting local subsistence, landscape restoration, and traditional practices. Eco-Cultural Tourism: We encourage nature-positive, culturally respectful tourism that uplifts local communities and reinforces conservation. DAF operates through long-term commitment, deep community partnerships, and collaboration with Re:wild, MBCFI, DENR, NCIP, LGUs, and global conservation networks. Our vision: a Mindoro where ecosystems thrive, tamaraws roam freely, and Indigenous communities lead the sustainable future of their ancestral lands.
