About Data Economy Policy Hub

The Data Economy Policy Hub (DepHUB) is the first independent think-tank founded by an indigenous African woman in South Africa. We provide tailor-made rigorous research and advisory services for holistic economic regulation, data management, sustainable digital development, data economy policy, just public data value creation, and responsible transnational governance of emerging digital technologies (EDT). Grounded in heterodox economics, we aim to influence and provide public interest recommendations for evidence-driven holistic digital economy policy frameworks and contribute to the formulation of forward-looking policies that mitigate intersectional inequities and support responsible governance of EDT for sustainable development, tailored to sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) socioeconomic realities, to realise structural economic (digital ) transformation for an African Society 5.0. The DepHUB is the inaugural chair of the D4D Hub Civil Society & Academia Advisory Group (CSAAG). The Africa Digital Development Advisory (ADDA) is the commercial consulting division of the DepHUB.
